[Class 4] In a parachute-pack in which a cone or cones co-operate with eyelets on closure flaps of the pack to hold the latter closed, the cone or cones are attached to the base of the pack as distinct from one of the closure flaps. In one form, the pack comprises two rectangular spring frames 10 sewn between two layers of fabric constituting the base of the pack. Upstanding cones 12, 13 are provided on the base and tapes 14, 15 allow of packing the parachute as described in Specification 405,693. The parachute is packed first on one side of the cones and then on the other, and sides flaps 16, 17 and top and bottom flaps 18, 19 are then folded over and are secured by a locking-wire after eyelets have been passed over the cones. Corner tabs 69 are provided for tucking in at the corners of the pack and the harness straps pass through slots 20. In a modification, two rows of cones 22, 23 are provided and the pack is closed by side flaps 24, 25, flaps 30, 31 sewn to the base along the line 32, top end flaps 36, 37 and a bottom end flap 33. Corner tabs 70 are provided. In a further modification, a seat pack is formed by a rigid frame 41 situated in an envelope sealed by lacing 44* forming the base of the pack and includes a single cone 42 arranged to co-operate with eyelets on the closure flaps 56, 156, 58, 158. The cone is mounted on an elastic loop 49, its lower end is flanged at 51 and it is passed through an eyelet 53 secured to the base by webbing strips 54, 55. The flap 158 is provided with a tab 59 which is folded over the rip-cord and secured by press studs 60, 61. Corner tabs 62 are provided.
