UNITED LIMMER & VORWOHLE ROCK ASPHALTE CO., Ltd., Salisbury House, Finsbury Circus, London.-(Lattorf, R. ; 61, Lattorfstrasse, Ahlen, near Hanover, Germany) March 29, 1935, No. 9893. [Classes 20 (iv) and 107] A surface for roofs, floors, walls and other structures consists of an underlayer comprising felt or like insulating material 3, an adhesive coating 4 applied to the insulating material, and preformed slabs which are made according to Specification 433,017 and are laid on the adhesive layer. As shown in Fig. 1, the concrete roof 1 is covered first with a bitumen layer 2, and then with tarred or bituminous felt 3 which is coated with a grout 4 of bitumen, cement-mortar, &c. The joints between the slabs are filled with a similar grout 4a. The concrete roof shown in Fig. 2 is covered with a felt layer 3, an asphaltic layer 11, a layer 4 of grout, and preformed slabs. An adhesive, such as bitumen, may be applied between the felt 3 and concrete 1 and between the asphalt 11 and felt 3. The underlayer may comprise one or more layers of bituminous or tarred felt or like insulating material and one or more layers of bitumen, cement-mortar or like adhesive for the reception of the slabs.
