Abstract
444,988. Strap &c. fastenings. SCHLESINGER, A., 15, Rotenturmstrasse, Vienna. April 25, 1935, Nos. 12468 and 12469. Convention dates, April 25, 1934, and Nov. 7, 1934. [Class 44] A fastening for wrist - straps, belts, &c., comprises a loop 10 secured to one end of the strap and adapted to engage over a tongue 2 pivoted in a frame 1 mounted on the other end of the strap. Tongue 2 is closed down and retained by an offset portion 4 snapping past the dead centre in the manner of a lever-clip, and is then covered by closing a pivoted cover-plate 6 having an off-set 8 which snaps over the dead-centre to retain the cover closed. Tongue 2 is long enough to be engaged by the part 8 so that raising cover 6 initiates release of tongue 2. As shown in Fig. 1, frame 1, is slidable along the strap for adjustment purposes and is retained by the clamping action of parts 4, 8. A modification is described in which frame 1 is secured to the end of the strap and a plate-spring is provided in the frame to co-operate with parts 4, 8 to retain the parts 2, 6 in fastened position. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also hook means for connecting the strap end to the watch case, the hook in one form being connected to the strap by a lever-clip member which also closes the hook. In another arrangement, a number of hooks, depending on the width of the strap, are loosely arranged side by side. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
