Abstract

444,826. Valve circuits for wireless reception. BRITISH TUNGSRAM RADIO WORKS, Ltd., West Road, Tottenham, London, and SZABADI, J. A., 11, Kenmore Gardens, Edgware, Middlesex. Oct. 15, 1934, No. 29444. [Class 40 (v)] Automatic volume control is effected, in a superheterodyne receiver, by controlling the anode voltage of the local oscillator 13 in accordance with the anode current of the anode-bend second detector 18, said anode voltage being derived from the junction of the resistances 20, 22 in the anode circuit of valve 18. The normal oscillator voltage is chosen so that only a small change of gain occurs when the signal amplitude is below a predetermined value. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 421,786.
