Abstract

444,243. Electric clocks. KRAUSE, A. C., Aquinas Street, Stamford Street, London. Sept. 12, 1934, No. 26192. [Class 139] In a master clock controlled by a pendulum, the oscillation of the latter is communicated to a pivot 13 carrying a push rod 15 for effecting movement of one arm 18<1> of a switch 20 in the circuit of secondary clocks, there being a cam member 23 to deflect the rod 15 from engagement with the arm 18<1>, and the cam member being moved periodically from the path of the rod by a part (25, 26) operated by the master clock mechanism. As the pendulum oscillates, a link pivoted to it and to a link 12, rocks the latter and a pivot shaft 13 to which is attached an arm 14. Normally, a cam arm 23 is rocked clockwise about its pivot 24 and a pin 21 rigidly associated with the push rod 15 attached to arm 14 rides up over arm 23. An arm 26 rotated with the seconds arbor 27 carries two pins 25 which, once every thirty seconds, lift the arm 23; whereupon rod 15 moves to the left without lifting and its end 15<1> meets a pin 29 on an arm 30 so that the latter rocks about pivot 30<1> to close contacts 20. These contacts transmit impulses to secondary clocks or may be used to effect winding of the spring of the master clock. 18<1> and 19<1> are spring blades. Normally, as the rod 15 returns to the right after being lifted by arm 23, it is relowered by a fixed cam.
