Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 30, 1933]. [Class 108 (ii)] [See also Group XXXI] In an electrically-driven vehicle of the " trolley bus " type, a motor 7 situated in the longitudinal axis of the vehicle at the front end under the floor 4 of the driver's cabin, drives independently sprung front steering wheels 11 through a clutch 9, bevel and toothed gearing 15-19, a differential 20, and universally jointed shafts 28, the wheels being mounted on stub axle brackets journalled at their upper ends in bearings 23 con nected by pivoted rods 24 24<a> to brackets 25 on the chassis frame members 22 whilst the lower ends are journalled in bearings carried by the ends of a transverse suspension spring 26. The steering arms 31 are connected by rods 32 to arms 33, 34 of a rock lever 35, 37, mounted on a pivot 36 and connected by a rod 39 to an operating arm 40 on the steering column 41. The arrangement allows the chassis side members 22 to be downswept behind the front wheels, providing for a low rear carrying platform.
