Abstract

427,948. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Nov. 2, 1934, No. 31512. Convention date, Nov. 2, 1933. [Class 38 (ii)] A transformer having a considerable difference of potential between its windings comprises two hollow cylindrical cores 11 and 13 carrying windings 10 and 12 and linked by a coupling conductor formed by a casing 14 having a cover 17 and a hollow central post 16. The cores 11 and 13 are arranged one surrounding the other concentric with the central post 16 and insulated from one another and from the post 16 by insulation 21, 22. The casing 14 which is of conductive material such as copper or brass may contain insulating liquid 15 and be earthed at 20.
