Abstract
412,023. Photographic developing-apparatus; automatic cameras. ZOLLINGER, W., 10, Hugelstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. May 3, 1933, No. 12952. Convention date, May 3, 1932. [Classes 98 (i) and 98 (ii).] An apparatus for automatically developing, washing, reversing and drying photographs especially for use in automatic cameras consists of a number of bath containers, each having a U-shaped tray or trays and side walls assembled to form a trough, and containing an insert carrying a conveyer, the driving axles for which are mounted on a rail along the upper edge of the apparatus and are driven through a common chain. Feed rollers are provided for conveying the pictures from one tray to the next, and the pictures, after leaving the last tray, fall onto a conveyer band of a drying apparatus. In the form shown, the picture are delivered from the camera to the baths by a link chain 83, Fig. 2, and through each bath by a separate chain 98. Each bath consists of a trough 84 in which are a set of U-shaped trays 86 each having an insert 87 carrying the conveyer 98. The trough is carried-by rails 88, 88<a>, the rails 88 carrying sprockets for the conveyers 98 and rollers 102 provided with pairs of rollers 103, 104 for conveying the pictures from one tray to the next. The pictures are passed by rollers 114 115 from the last tray into a delivery channel 110 and fall with the picture side uppermost onto a belt 112 in a casing 111 having heating resistances 113. All the conveyers and rollers are driven from a motor M, a reducing gearing being provided to slow the passage of the pictures through the developing bath. For refilling the baths, bottles 127, Fig. 1, are provided, connected to the baths by hoses 128 closed by a clamp 129. The clamp is periodically opened by a cam 130 on a shaft 21 driven from the motor M. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also a photographic apparatus having two cameras for producing either one large picture or four small ones. The apparatus is coin-freed and is mounted in a cabinet having a seat for the subject, illuminating means, and a background carried on rollers at the rear. The cameras Cg, Ck, are carried on a support 3, Fig. 8 (Cancelled), and are provided with shutters and reversing prisms. The support 3 is movable transversely by rollers 11, and carries also the casing 6 containing the sensitive paper 24. The paper is fed by pawls 27 on a support 26 moved by an arm 28 operated by a cam disc 30. The pawls are so arranged that when the camera Cg is in use the paper is fed in two steps and the support is moved laterally after each step. The shutters of the cameras are operated by levers by means of studs on a cam disc driven from the shaft 21, and the movements of the support 3 and the paper feed are controlled by studs on a cam disc co-operating with an electromagnet 57 controlled by a press-button switch. A lever H under the control of the sitter moves the first cam disc into engagement with the appropriate shutter lever and raises or lowers the second cam disc varying the number of studs which engage the armature of the electromagnet 57. After exposure, the paper is severed by the knife 31 and passed down the channel 38 to the developing apparatus. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
