Abstract

410,247. Exhaust-silencers. SINGER, A. M., 51, Gloucester Terrace, Bayswater, London. Dec. 22,1932, No. 36358. [Class 7 (ii).] An exhaustsilencer for automobiles comprises a hollow device a representing an animal or part thereof, such as the head of a greyhound, with a flared mouth at one end, and the other end adapted for attachment to the exhaust pipe, a decelerating and cooling device in the form of a spiral ribbon f being formed or provided internally. The device may be formed with a sawcut c and lugs d for bolting to the exhaust pipe ; or a screw or bayonet joint may be used. The spiral f may be formed integrally with the device.
