April 11, 1933, No. 10845. Convention date, April 12, 1932. [Class 37.] A choke coil for compensating earth fault currents in installation networks operated at different voltages comprises a number of sectional windings mounted on a common iron core, the winding groups being separated from adjacent groups magnetically by an intermediate yoke. As shown, air-gaps 1 separate the coil group 6 from the coil group 5, the intermediate yoke 4 being continuous. At a low operating voltage the coil group 5 comprises a series group with the group 6 out of circuit, while at a higher operating voltage the group 6 is series-connected to the group 5 which is paralleled. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 392,942.
