Abstract
401,092. Cardboard &c. boxes. CRETS, J. J. C. G., 174, Malakkastraat, The Hague. Oct. 3, 1932, No. 27438. [Class 18.] A single-wall folding box of paper, thin cardboard, &c. for cakes, chocolates, sweetmeats, margarine packets, &c. of the type in which the lower part and the cover form one integral unit and which are formed so that they can be easily collapsed without disjointing has, at a short distance from and parallel to the normal folding line 6 of the lid a second folding line 7 such that the cover may hinge about both folding lines. In one form the box is made from the blank shown in Fig. 1 and folded to the form shown in Fig. 2. In the alternative construction shown in Figs. 3 and 4 additional flaps 9 with or without end flaps 9a are secured to the sides 4 by glue, nails, &c. and the flaps 5 in the front and back walls of the body are secured to the ends 4 by glue &c. only over the cross-hatched parts 14, to facilitate folding. When the sides 4 have folding lines the flaps 9 may be secured only within the area defined by the folding lines. In a further modification shown in Fig. 7 the corners 15 are creased at 17 and tongues 16 disposed on the outside of the body engage under the triangular flaps formed by folding at the lines 17.
