Abstract
409,853. Rotary blowers. BROWN & SONS, (HUDDERSFIELD), Ltd., D., and MERRITT, H. E., Park Gear Works, Lockwood, Huddersfield. Jan. 26, 1933, No. 2469. [Class 110 (ii).] The rotor for a Roots' blower is built up axially of a number of sections a<1>-a<4> or laminµ, arranged on a splined shaft. The sections are hollowed out to leave webs e, for lightening purposes. The material used may be aluminium or a light alloy, and the sections may be cast, pressed, or stamped, before machining. The lobes may have profiles of involute form. Holes may be drilled through the sections to lighten them.
