Abstract
407,353. Darts. BRIGGS, G., and COCHRAN, H. P., 362, City Road, London. Sept. 10, 1932, No. 25281. [Class 132 (iii).] A dart has a rubber sucker in place of the usual steel point, deformation of the sucker being necessary to remove it from the body part. The wooden body part a, Fig. 3, has one end reduced, tapered, and grooved at a3 to receive a correspondingly recessed rubber sucker b, and has the other end provided with sawcuts a<1> to receive flights f formed from a suitably folded and creased square of paper c, Fig. 4. In a modification, Fig. 6, feather flights d are stuck and /or bound on to the body a in known manner. In this construction the body part a is provided with a knob a<4> which is pressed into a corresponding hole for the sucker. The body of the dart may be round or flat and may be weighted at e, Fig. 6. In a further method of securing the sucker, the body a is bored out and split at one end to receive a rubber knob on the centre of the back of the sucker, the splits being afterwards contracted to hold the knob of the sucker firmly, e.g. by means of wire binding. The darts may be used to advertise goods or articles by means of advertisements applied thereto.
