Abstract

391,541. Nonconducting coverings for heat. HAMILTON, W., Woodlands, Best Beech Hill, Wadhurst, Sussex. Jan. 5, 1932, Nos. 330 and 1887. [Class 64 (ii).] A lagging for pipes comprises a number of strips 1 .. 8 of trapezoidal cross section affixed to a flexible sheet B, the angle between the non-parallel sides being such that the lagging in position around the pipe forms a solid mass. The strips may consist of powdered cork and adhesive, soft wood, pith or cork. The flexible sheet may comprise American cloth or imitation leather or a fabric such as calico. Projections and recesses in the ends of the strips enable them to key into one another. In a modification, half the strips may be used to form semicylindrical sleeves.
