Abstract
399,786. Colour photography and kinematography. COOPER, E. D. and DAVIES, J., 468, Hawthorne Road, Bootle, Lancashire. Feb. 10, 1932, No. 3923. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (ii).] In a process of projecting pictures in colour in a kinematograph or like apparatus, a group of component colour record images prepared from negatives taken through two or more complementary colour filters is projected in superimposition on to a screen, all the images or certain only of them being projected through a filter coloured by treatment in a solution of aesculine or of #-naphthol-disulphonic acid and certain through a different filter. In the case of a film, the component colour records are in recurring series each comprising all the records corresponding to one colour and all the series or certain only are projected through the aesculine filter. The filter may comprise rose bengal and patent blue in addition to the aesculine or #-naphtholdisulphonic acid. The whole film may be treated by bathing it in a solution of the filter dyes or in the case of a two-colour film, only the green component images may be so treated, the red component images being treated with a dye absorbing all the colours from 6250 mÁ to the violet end of the spectrum. Other pairs of complementary colours may be used similarly. In place of dyeing the film a separate filter may be used.
