[Class 35.] In a pole or pole-shoe, laminae of magnetic material are interspersed with thinner laminae of different magnetic material having higher resistance than the first-mentioned material. In the form shown, laminae 2 of silicon steel À014 inch thick and laminae 1 of usual black steel .065 inch thick are disposed alternately except at the ends, where six of the thicker laminae are spot-welded together to serve as end plates 3. The structure is provided with tappings 7 to receive studs for fixing to the yoke.
