Abstract
<PICT:0383183/IV/1> Loose textile materials such as skeins of back wall of the box 20 is hinged a clamping member 40 having side and end walls 43, 44 adapted to rest on the side and end walls 23, 24 of the box, and intermediate cross-pieces 42 adapted to lie close to the ribs 22 of the box. Perforated plates 50a .. 50d are connected to yarn are multicolour dyed by immersing portions thereof in liquid dye and alternately compressing and releasing the portions. The skeins S are spread over the compartments 21a .. 21d of a trough 20. In each compartment is a perforated false bottom 30 and to the slide rods 49a .. 49d which are moved up and down by pivoted handles 51 and springs 52. Means, including measuring cups, are provided for introducing measured quantities of dye from reservoirs into the dye compartments and the capacity of the cups may be varied.
