[Class 108 (i).] In road-vehicle sheet metal frames the lower longitudinal frames are formed as hollow members and the pillars are welded thereto by means of additional sheet-metal members so designed as to form hollow spaces. The frames A are formed of one or two sheet metal members 1, 2 in the shape shown, the ends of the frame being formed as box members. The open lower parts are closed by wooden members 3 forming the door sill. The front port C comprises angular members 10, 11, the member 10 being secured to the top of the member A which the member 11 projects to the bottom of the member A. Corner sheet metal members 14, 17, 19, Figs. 1 and 7, are welded as shown forming hollow spaces 15, 18, 20. The outer panelling 21, Fig. 8, is spaced from the member 10 and an inner panelling 24 is provided together with wooden filling pieces 23. At the rear the wheel housing F is secured to the frames A by means of members 26 forming hollow spaces with the curved wall 25. The curved top wall 27 is flanged and welded to the wall 25 and to this wall 27 is nested and secured the pillar G. The hollow space is closed at the rear by a cap 33 while a lug 28 is provided at the front of the housing welded by means of its front edge 29 to the frame A a hollow surface 31 being formed.
