Abstract

373,390. Jointing tubes to plates. CRANE PACKING, Ltd., Slough, and WILKINSON, F. C. W., The Elms, Stomp Road, Burnham, both in Buckinghamshire. May 11, 1931, No. 13879. [Class 99 (i).] A condenser tube is secured in a plate 7 by expanding the end of the tube against a conical seat 5, and holding it thereon by a conical ended ring 8 compressed by a ferrule 9 which is preferably flared at 10. A tube which has been secured by the method shown in the top half of Fig. 2 may be secured when replaced after damage by the method shown in the lower half of the Figure, the old ferrule 11 being used with a filling ring 12.
