Abstract
374,464. Elastic-diaphragm pressure gauges. LEWIS, W. W., 15, Vine Street, Clerkenwell, London. March 7, 1931, No. 7114. [Class 106 (ii).] In a pressure gauge for use with a pneumatic liquid level indicator, one wall of an expansible chamber 1 carries a bar 3 to one end of which a second bar 4 is pivoted at 6. The bar 4 carries a projecting pin 5 engaging one arm of a bell-crank lever 7, the other arm of which is connected by a link 10 to a cranked spindle 11 carrying a pointer 15. The point of engagement of the pin 5 with the lever 7, and therefore the multiplication of movement transmitted to the pointer, may be adjusted by swinging the bar 4 about its pivot 6 and securing it by a screw 20 passing through a slot 19. The position of the pin 5 may also be adjusted by means of the screw 20 which is threaded through the bar 4 so that the latter with its pin 5 may be moved towards or away from the chamber 1. The Provisional Specification refers to a fine wire attached to the longarm of the bell-crank lever to bring the pointer to zero.
