Abstract
362,309. Sanitary traps. SCHENK, A., 150, Morgartenring, Basle, Switzerland. April 20, 1931, No. 11686. [Class 33.] In a trap for the waste pipes of lavatory basins, sinks and closets of the kind formed of vessels a, i detachably connected together, the upper vessel a carrying the inlet and outlet pipes c, d, and a connecting socket f, g, a hand-lever n, pivotally mounted on a bracket l carried by pins e on the vessel a, may be operated so that a spherical attachment o engages a recess p in the vessel i, to secure the connection between the two vessels. The arrangement is such that when in its operative position, the member o is disposed somewhat eccentrically of the plane of the pins e and the pivotal axis of the lever n. A rim k on the vessel i and a packing ring h are provided, while the vessels a, i may be cylindrical, quadrangular or polygonal and may be constructed of glass or of nickel-plated copper.
