Abstract
364,938. Twisting or doubling yarns. KARSCH, A., 39, Comeniusstrasse, Dresden, Germany. March 18, 1931, No. 8292. [Class 120 (ii).] In apparatus for twisting together, by means of a twist tube, two or more threads running from a cop or bobbin, an adjustable braking device is arranged directly above the cop and below the twist tube, the twist tube being rotated in the same direction as and faster than the cop, whereby a preliminary twist is imparted to the thread between the cop and the braking device, the twist being undone and the final twist in the opposite direction being imparted by the twist tube. The material may be moistened on its passage to the twist tube. The preliminary twist put into the yarn h between the revolving cop a and the adjustable yarn-braking device e is taken out by the twist tube b between the braking device e and the twist tube, so that the yarn is in an untwisted state somewhere between these two points, and whilst in this state it may be moistened in the water tube m. The yarn retains a permanent twist above the twist tube, passes through the drawing rollers c and is wound into a package. The bracket k carrying the guide d and the adjustable braking device e is vertically adjustable.
