Abstract

352,351. Medical vaporizers. NOIROT, J., 31, Rue Bayen, Paris. Oct. 22, 1930, No. 31727. [Class 81 (i).] A device for vaporizing liquids comprises a V-shaped tube having a short vertical limb 1 closed at its end, and a longer inclined limb 2 supported within a casing 10 above a trough 13 which receives a block of solidified fuel 20. The larger limb, 2, is closed by a screwed cap 3 having a central aperture 4 into which is fitted a conical plug 5 perforated with a narrow orifice 7. The plug is pressed into the aperture 4 by a spring 8 which is mounted in the interior of an annular cap 9 that screws on to the cap 3. In use, the tube is partly filled with suitable liquid which is vaporized by the heat of the fuel 20. The vapour escapes through the orifice 7, and the spring 8 allows the plug 5 to rise if the pressure within the tube becomes excessive.
