Abstract

350,838. Protecting pipes. UNKE, H. A., 3217, Portman Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A. Sept. 12, 1930, No. 27303. [Class 94 (i).] A device for protecting the threaded ends of pipes comprises a metallic sleeve 12 with an inturned flange 13, 15 to engage the end of the pipe, and series of lugs 17 for engagement with the threads 11. The lugs are made in a stamping press by radial inward displacement and swaging and are disposed helically at a multiple of the distance between successive threads.
