Abstract
341,667. Air compressors. PAUL, R., 24, Rue du Sud Ó Colombes, Seine, France. Dec. 13, 1929, No. 38303. Convention date, Jan. 23. [Class 8 (i).] Sets of radial compression cylinders 3, 4 are formed in a block, each set delivering the air at a different predetermined pressure. The pistons are actuated by an eccentric 5. The larger cylinders 3 draw through valves 9 from an annular suction chamber 10, and deliver to a low-pressure receiver 12 ; a byepass 14 fitted with a spring-controlled valve 15 returns the air to the suction chamber at a certain receiver pressure. The small cylinders deliver from the suction chamber 10 to a highpressure receiver 13 from which the air is similarly byepassed to the suction chamber on attaining a certain higher pressure. The receiver 13 opens into an outlet manifold by a free passage, and the low-pressure receiver 12 opens into the manifold by a passage having a spring-actuated valve. Delivery takes place from both chambers 12, 13 till at a certain pressure the byepass valve is opened and so the valve leading to the outlet is closed; while at a certain higher pressure the receiver 13 is byepassed.
