Abstract

341,058. Washing and purifying gases. JACOBSEN, 0. B., 13, Serpentine Road, Selly Hill, Birmingham. Sept. 6, 1929, Nos. 27071/29 and 5770/30. [Class 55 (ii).] Apparatus for subjecting gases to combined washing and centrifugal action comprises a centrifugal separator with stationary turbo-blades d, as described in Specification 310,568, [Class 23, Centrifugal machines &c.], and sprayers b, g, arranged below or on the delivery side of the blade chamber for introducing water or steam into the gas; both separator and spraying-means are enclosed in a common casing. Auxiliary sprays may be arranged at the intake side e of the blade chamber. In a modification, a double cone casing is employed.
