Open freplaces.-Wood blocks 2 are moulded in the concrete backing 3 of a tiled fireplace surround to enable parts such as wooden or other edge strips 4 and a shelf 6 to be readily attached. The blocks shown are of wedge form and have bevelled edges in order that they may be locked in the concrete.
