Abstract
328,256. Rook, T. Jan. 22, 1929. Fish ladders or passes.-A ladder or pass comprises a series of pools in stepped formation, the contour of the steps in longitudinal section merging in an even curve from the high end 13, to the low end 14. In transverse section, the step is curved in an arc or semicircle merging into a horizontal part. The pools 6 are substantially triangular with sloping walls 9 the steps 2 being adjacent to opposite sides 7, of the channel, so as to provide a descending water stream along the base of the triangle. Each pool at the intake end of the pass is provided with a floating sluice to control the flow of water.
