Abstract
324,003. Turner & Co., Ltd., L., Hunt, G. L. Brooke-, and Rowland, L. July 13, 1928. Indiarubber and like springs comprising a core of rubber braided or covered with a flexible material are adapted to be employed under compression. The covered core may be in the form of an endless ring such as that described in Specifications 102,754 and 282,534. In the application shown in Fig. 5, a piston 15 and a cylinder 16 are connected to two relatively movable elements and movement of the piston is cushioned by covered rubber rings constructed in accordance with the invention. Movement of the piston 15 may also be restrained by elastic tension means 19 acting through toggle linkwork 17. Various methods of constructing and utilizing the covered rubber compression elements are described.
