Abstract

317,635. Wade, H., (Akt.-Ges. der Maschinenfabrik von T. Bell et 'Cie). Aug. 14, 1928. Casings; closure members, rotary spherical. The casing of a rotary spherical valve for use on pipe lines is made of sheet metal and the elements of the casing are shaped so that they can be connected together by circular seam welding. In the form shown in the Fig., a central cylindrical part 3 is joined to cylindrical inlet and outlet connections by 1 frusto-concial parts 2. The member 3 may be bent as shown at 3a so that the weld does not come at the angle. In a modification, the members 1 and 2, are shaped from a single piece of metal. The valve member may be cast or built up from sheet metal. In the form shown, the valve face 6 is carried by a cylindrical member 5 mounted on pivots 7, 8. Specification 274,351 is referred to.
