Abstract

315,288. Smith, J. K. April 10, 1928. Powder distributers.-A device for sprinkling or distributing powdered material upon articles comprises two screens or sieve-like elements of different mesh maintained in superposed relation to the receptacle or means receiving the articles and arranged to slide respectively to one another within a predetermined range of movement. As shown, the one screen 9 of fine mesh is stretched across a frame 6 supported by uprights 5 from a base member 4 in which is mounted a tray 2 containing the articles 16. The screen 9 is supported by stays 11 on a coarse wire cloth 10 and the other screen 13 is carried by a frame 12 resting loosely on the ledge 7 of the frame 6 and provided with handles 15 by which it may be moved to and fro within the frame. The frame 12 is provided with partitions 14 dividing it into sections and ensuring equal distribution of the powder.
