Abstract

Flat endless - belt conveyers; driving- gear; guiding ; auxiliary ropes. - In an endless - belt conveyer 1 provided with rope grips 8 at intervals to engage an endless driving rope 9, the upper run of the rope is raised above a straight line tangential to the upper edges of the head and tail pulleys around which it passes so that it is drawn down towards the upper run of the belt and is wedged firmly in the rope grips. The grips 8 are mounted near the ends of a series of axles 4, Fig. 2, which are secured to the belt and provided with rollers 5 adapted to run on tracks 6. The head pulley may be replaced by a driving unit comprising endless chains 11 carrying rope grips 15 which pass over chain wheels 1 on a driving shaft 13 and also over an idler pulley 14.
