Abstract
291,957. Walker, C. P. June 13, 1927. Continuous-discharge apparatus with stationary containers.-Two parallel discs A<1>, A<2> are provided with intercalated pins or blades; materials for mixing or emulsifying are supplied at the periphery under pressure and discharged near the centre through the pipe G. Both discs may be rotated, or one may be rotated while the other is stationary. The three rows J, K, L of blades, Fig. 2, are carried by the disc A<2>; the blades .T impart an inward radial movement to the material and the blades L retard it. A chamber B surrounds the discs and communicates with the chamber D by a narrow annular passage. The outlet E from the chamber D enables any excess material to be led back to the supply: a relief valve H opens from the chamber B. The apparatus may be used for grinding or the like in the preparation of inks, paints, dyes, or pharmaceutical materials.
