Transformers. - In a current transformer for measuring the sum of the currents in several circuits, a magnetic shield d comprising several layers of sheet iron insulated from each other is placed between the core b carrying the secondary winding and the conductors a carrying the currents of the several circuits and forming the primaries. The shield is intended to prevent flux such as c linking with only one primary conductor, and is rendered more effective by a lining e of non- magnetic electrically-conducting material such as copper.
