Abstract

276,235. Vose, E. W. Feb. 7, 1927. Vacuum-cleaners designed to combine portability with adequate suction comprise a casing 7 which communicates at one end with the nozzle 10 and at the opposite end with a dust bag 19, the intervening tube 18 serving as a holding device. Within the casing is mounted a second casing 2 containing the motor, the casings being dimensioned to form a continuous and substantially uniform space between the casings through which the air and dust are delivered by a combined centrifugal and propulsion fan 5 driven by the motor located in the space between the conical ends of the casings. Baffles are placed in the space between the casings to prevent whirling of the air, and the conical portion 8 is detachably secured to the main casing.
