Abstract
262,687. Rill, H., and Rill, V. Sept, 6, 1926. Bread.-Dents or notches are simultaneously made in a number of bakery rolls by the use of vertically moving and simultaneously rotating pressure bars which are fitted with loosely mounted oil bolsters in direct contact therewith. The rolls are placed in the channels r of a plate q which is inserted into a casing a to rest upon a plate s. The pressure bars l are rotatably carried by brackets k depending from an upper plate b which is adapted to be raised and lowered by a hand-wheel g and rack-and-pinion gearing c, h. The oil bolsters n are loosely fitted on the brackets k and are suppiied with oil from a container o on the plate b by small pipes o<1> feeding the oil to the upper grooved surface n<1> of the bolsters. Gutters p receive any oil dropping from the bolsters. The projecting ends of the bars l engage vertical slots r in the casing, and to effect the rotation of the bars these ends are fitted with intermeshing pinions t of which an end pinion is arranged to gear with a rack u fixed to the outside of the casing.
