Abstract

Switches, quick-action, specially adapted to be operated by thermal means, comprise an operating lever c connected by a spring m to a member b which is pivoted at b<4> and held against movement by one of two pawls e, e<1> until the spring m has been moved over dead-centres and a projection d or d' on the lever c has released the pawl e or e'. The lever c may be operated by downward movement of a thermally-operated member g a spring h returning the lever when the member g moves upwards; and the member b, which comprises two connected plates enclosing the spring m between them, carries a member a<5> between which and a fixed part a<4> is arranged a spring a<3> carrying the movable contact a<1>. Clockwise rotation of the member b causes the contact a' to move away from a fixed contact a.
