265,793. Weightman, J. S. March 5, 1926. Lift valves; casings; hammering pads.-A twopart tap for use in drawing off beer &c. from casks &c. comprises an inner casing part 10 containing a spring-closed valve 17 with a separate guide member 22, and an outer part 30 provided with an angular discharge branch 31 and carrying the screwed operating rod 40 for opening the valve. The two parts are secured together by a union nut 33. To facilitate hammering the tapered inner part 10 into the cask &c. the end 12 can be fitted with a screwed detachable hammering head or pad 46. The nut 37 of the screwed rod 40 is retained in the outer part, as shown, by the gland nut 38.
