Abstract

253,955. Senitha, H. de W. Dec. 30, 1924. Spring wheels. - The hub and rim of a resilient wheel are connected by helical springs 20, the windings of which, in the unloaded state, progressively increase or decrease in pitch from the middle portion to the ends. A disc 21 carried on the rim slides between discs 22, 23 on the hub, antifrictional washers 29 provided with apertures for grease being fitted on the disc 21. Studs 13, 19 attach the springs to the hub and rim respectively, and, to prevent strain at the spring ends in crossbending, a pronged piece 15 extends from the. studs 13, 19 radially within the spring windings.
