Earpieces or attachments.-A device for use 'with an ordinary telephone receiver so as to allow the sounds to be communicated to both ears or to enable two persons to listen, comprises earpieces 1, 2 connected by a flexible tube 13, the earpiece 2 being formed with an exterior surface 4 against which the end of a telephone receiver 5 is adapted to be pressed. The tube 13 is preferably provided with a removable U-shaped spring member 16. Tubes 14 secured to the ends of the tubing 13 by coupling sleeves 15 are adapted to slide frictionally within tubes 8, 11 secured in the earpieces 1, 2 respectively. The tube 8 communicates with a recess 6 in the earpiece 1, whilst the earpiece 2 has an axial opening 10 within which is mounted a cup-like extension 12 of the tube 11, the mouth of the extension being directed towards the receiver 5. The diameter of the extension 12 is made somewhat less than that of the passage 10 so that an annular passage is left around the extension through which a portion of the sound waves from the receiver 5 pass directly to the ear of the user against which the earpiece 2 is positioned, the remainder of the sound passing through the extension 12 and tubing 13 to the earpiece 1.
