Abstract
A boat rowing device is disclosed. The device comprises a driving gear 1 secured to a plate 2. A driven gear 3 is secured with the plate such that it receives rotational movement from the driving gear. A handle 4 is secured with the driving gear to facilitate rotating the driving gear. An oar 5 is secured with the driven gear and facilitates rowing of the boat. The plate may be hingedly secured to a base plate 6 which is adapted in use to be secured to a top surface of a side of the boat. Further gears may be provided between the driving gear and the driven gear to increase or decrease the rotational movement of the driven gear.

BOAT ROWING DEVICE
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to a boat rowing device. The boat rowing device is useful to propel a boat in water.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Boats are propelled in water generally by using a plurality 0 oars adapted to be supported on both sides of a boat pivotally with the help of aniron loop or saddle.
The boat is propelled by the boat operator by pulling the oars towards him and thus the water is pushed forward and the boat moves in the backward direction In such a situation the boatman is unable to navigate, the boat by himself.
However if the boatman wants to navigate the boat himself then he has to push the oars in the forward direction and thus water is pushed in the backward direction and the boat moves in the forward direction.
In western countries during boats race the oarsman do pull the oars towards themselves and therefore the boat moves in the backward direction. Thus, the oarsmen can not themselves navigate the boat, Therefore, a trained operator / navigator is needed to navigate the boat in the water during such races, kowever, if the oarsmen want to navigate the boat by self then they have to push the oars to move the water in backward directi?n and therefore get exhausted soon, --Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a boat rowing device which obviates the disadvantages associated with the prior art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a boat rowing device which isof light weight and high strength: Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a boat rowing device which is easy to operate and maintain.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a boat rowing device which can be operated even by an untrained person.
STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION
JO According to this invention there is provided a boat rowing device comprising a driving gear secured to a plate rotatably a driven gear being secured to the plate * such that to receive rotational movement from the driving gear, a handle secured with the driving gear being provided to rotate the driving gear an oar secured with the driven gear being provided to facilitate rowing of the boat.
J5 BRIEF DESCRIPTIONOF THE DRAWINGS
A boat rowing device according to a preferred embodiment.is herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherejir Fig 1 illustrates prospective view of the boat rowing device Fig 2 illustrates the boat rowing device secured with the boat *
--DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF HE INVENTION
A boat rowing device is herein described with numerous specific details so as to provide a complete understanding *of the invention. However these specific details are exemplary details and should not be treated as the limitation to the scope of the invention. The invention may be performed with slight. rnodifithtjons Throughout this specification the word "comprise" or variations such as "comprises or comprising", will be understood to imply the inclusions of a stated element integer or step, or group of elements, integers or steps, but not the exclusions of any other element, integer or step or group of elements, integers or steps.
Referring to Figures 1, the boat rowing device A compjses a gear wheel I Secured rotatably to.a plate 2 and constitute a driving gear. Another gear wheel 3 is 5ecured to the plate 2 rotatably such that to be engaged with gear wheel I so as to receive rotatable movement from the gear wheel 1 and constitute a driven IS wheel. A handle 4 is secured to the gear wheel ito facilitate pulling or pushing of the wheS 1 on its axis and thus to rotate the gear wheer3. An oar 5 is secured to the gear wheel 3 which pushes water back ward upon receiving drive from the gear wheel 1. The plate 2 is adapted to be secured near top nd of the side of the boat so that it can be operated by the user of the boat.
In one embodimeni plate 2 is hingedly Secured to a base plate 6. The base plate 6 is adapted to be Secured at the top âurface of the side of the boat such that to raise and lower the oar 5 in the water as and when required so as to facilitate --rowing of the boat.
According to an embodiment a third gear wheel (not shown) may be provided between the gear I and 3 to increase and I or decrease rotation of the gear wheel 3 and thus to increase or decrease speed of rowing of the boat.
As shown in figure -2, the device A is secured on both sides of a boat B and the user or users of the boat pulls the handle 4 towards himself/ herself and thus the gear wheel 1 is rotated and in turn the gear wheel 3 is rotated and the oar5 thus pushes water in the backward direction and the boat mQves in the forward direction. This operation is repeated continuously for rowing the boat.
In one embodiment the useror users of the boat may push the handle 4 away from himself I herself and thus the gear wheel 1 is rotated in the reverse direction and in turn the gear wheel 3 is rotated and the oar 5 thus pushes water in the forward direction and the boat moves in the backward direction. This operation is repeated continuously for rowing the boat.
Certain features of the invention have been described with reference to the example embodiments. However, the description is not intended to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the example embodiments as well as other embodiments of the invention, which are apparent to the persons skilled in the art to which the invention pertains, are deemed to lie within the spirit and scope of the invention.
