Hatch fastenings; cargo batten fittings.-Batten cleats for hatches or batten hatches of the kind comprising a palm bolted to the coaming &c. and provided with a cranked extension which accommodates the wedges 9 are provided along the entire length of one or both vertical edges of the palm and cranked extension with webs 7. In variations, the cranked part is arranged at less than a right angle and may be hooked at its free end.
