Closures completed by outstanding packing rings.-A stopper for hot water bottles &c. comprises a resilient plug of oval shape provided with a spindle carrying means whereby the plug can be expanded after insertion in an oval filling aperture to make a watertight fit with the smooth walls of the opening. A tapered oval ferrule A, provided on its outer surface with both vertical and horizontal corrugations to facilitate its attachment to a rubber hot water bottle, is closed by an oval rubber plug D adapted to be expanded against it when a wing nut G bearing against a plate F on top of the plug is screwed down a spindle E secured at its lower end in the plug.
