Abstract

The present invention relates to a container comprising an interior (2) and an exterior (3) and a lid for the container (11). The invention is characterised in that the interior of the container includes an up-standing member (5) in its ordinary configuration, a lid (11) together with the member interact so as to limit the amount of contents in the interior (2) to prevent the contents overflowing the top of the member, wherein the container is adapted for sale with the product in-situ and wherein the member extends upwardly in its normal configuration to a point wherein the top of the member is approximately coincident with the top of the container.

Description

24041 85 Container and Method of Filling the came One of the difficulties
of producing a product such as an animal feed or animal feed supplement is that it is difficult to produce the same in a single operation. The present invention relates to a container and to a product used by the container in a single operation.
According to the present invention there is provided a container comorisirr.g an interior and an exterior and a lid for the container cbracterised tin that the interior of the contaLner includes up-standing member in its ordinan, configurations and a Ed together with said member interact as to limit the amount of contents in the interior and to prevent said contents flowing over the top of the members; Tic - : Sac - 7 - ." 5= I he member may exte nd upwardly in its normal configuration to a point: where the top of the member completely or roughly coincides with the top of the container. - (to e- (b w - = t pi In a preferred embodiment the lid is rebated to such that it intermits with the member in use and wherein said lid is a snap-fit such that the member and the interior are mair!tained in a correct ?? ? 7??????. In a further pretested embodiment the interior of the container is downwardly and inwardly sloped whereas the exterior of the member is sloped inwardly and upwardly toward its extremity the arrangement being such that the product may be readily expelled from a container which acts a. a mould. It is preferred that the member is about ore inch (2.52cm) ill diameter at its extremity moving to about one arid a quarter irlch.es (3.25cm at its base.
A product may comprise a container as just described; characterised in that the contents of the container comprise an.aperture therethr.ough formed by said member. The product when l decanted from said container may join one or more of said products held by a cord placed through the aperture. Product may be an animal feed or animal feed supplement if desired.
According to a second feature of the invention there is provided a method for making a product set out above which comprises, a) forming a mixture of said product material, b) pouring it into a container set out above, c) wiping the top of the container with a straight edged wiping implement, d) allowing the mixture to shrink and subsequently disgorging the form of product from the container to form animal feed or animal feed supplement.
The invention will now be described by way of illustration only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure} shows a plan view from one side showing the exterior of the container, Figure 2 shows part of -lid which will inter-fit in use with the arrangement of Fig. I, Figure 3 shows the interior of the container mould from above in pi-an vied, Figure 4 shows a plan viewMa lid in accordance with the present invention with the centre rebated, Figure 5 shows in diag;ramatie form side view of the container of the present invention in which the container:lid in Figure 6 has been removed.
With reference to Figure 5 particularly there is provided a container or would shown generally at (]) with an up-standing member (5) and an exterior surface (3) and an interior surface (2).
Said container acts as a mould for product (not shown) which is inserted into a portion of the container interior (2) and which may be that it contracts slightly on cooling or on chemical reaction. The top (Sa) is at the same level as at the top of the container at (4) such that a straight edged implement be passed.across the top of the container (4) also contacts the top of the member (5}.
The contents are allowed to solidify either by cooling or by incorporating the liquid into their structure and.allowing them to shrink. A lid shown partially tat Figures 2 and 4 is then inserted onto the top of the container (4). It may be rebated such that it inter-fits zenith member (5 and 5a) when pressed home onto the top of the container (4). Shown at ( I I) is a double dihedral (6a and 7) which extends outwardly relative to the top of the container (4). This is so that the lid and the container may be readily disengaged merely by pressing.
In use container (1) is placed on a surface such that it stands on the portions (9) on the exterior of the container (33. The product which in this case may be animal feed or animal feed supplement is inserted into the container such that it contacts the interior (I'). When the product spills over the top (4) the straight edged implement may be scrapped across the top (4) and at the same time contacts the top- (5a) of the member (5). The container ( I) is then allowed to cool for a period of time then the lid as shown in Figure 6 is inserted onto the top (4) such that it inter- fits with the lid at (8} which is rebated- slightly to accommodate the top of the member (5a). 'lathe ustandi-ng rne-rnber (5) is provided with an-outwardly extending exterior surface (10) culminating in the portion (9) adjacent the lowest portion of the container or mould member ('5).
Once the product has been. cooled it may there be sold along with the mould'contai.ner or may be disgorged from the.mould and sold. Because.tbe product is provided with a single aperture it may be disgorged and threaded by means of a cord or other suitable means::or sale.
The present invention relates therefore to a container andlor a mould and to a method of utilising the same.
