Abstract

248,529. Brown, A. G. Jan. 13, 1925. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Valves closing with rush of fluid.-A valve device for use in fluidpressure transmission systems and adapted to close automatically in the event of an abnormal outflow comprises a ball or lift valve member 8 housed in a chamber 4 open at both ends to the fluid conduit and having ports 7 in the side wall. The chamber is screwed into a casing 2 so that fluid entering bv the conduit 1 can pass through the ports 7 and valve seat 5 to the outlet. The lower inlet 6 to the the chamber 4 is fitted with a ported plug 11 whereby its area may be adjusted, an inspection opening closed by a plug 10 being provided for this purpose. In a modification the ball valve is replaced by a cylindrical member loosely fitting in the chamber 4. Specification 217,703 is referred to
