Abstract

A condensing boiler 2 is disclosed, the boiler comprising a reservoir 20 for collecting liquid condensed from flue gas produced by the boiler when in use; and a first conduit 22 extending from the reservoir and providing a first flow path for removing liquid from the reservoir in normal operation of the boiler. The boiler further comprises a second conduit 50 providing a second flow path for removing liquid from the reservoir and means, such as a valve 52, for selectively opening the second conduit to provide a flow path for removing liquid from the reservoir in the event of an excessive accumulation of liquid in the reservoir or the first conduit. The boiler can also include indication means operable to provide an indication to a user of an excessive accumulation of liquid in the reservoir or the first conduit. Preferably the indication means provides a visual and/or an audible indication. The indication means may comprise a float 32, visible through a transparent portion 44 of the first conduit, and responsive to an accumulation of condensate in the conduit. In a further aspect, a condensate drain assembly for a condensing boiler is provided.
