Abstract
A bracket 100 for attaching an accessory 200 (figure 2) to a scaffolding pole includes a clip 102 which allows the bracket 100 to be attached to the scaffolding pole, and a means 104 for attaching the bracket to an accessory is joined to the clip by a body 106. The body has one or more pairs of holes 108 for receiving securing means for preventing the clip from detaching from the scaffolding pole. The securing means may pass through the one or more pairs of holes 108 and around the scaffolding pole, and it is typically a wire or a cable tie. The means for attaching an accessory may be a socket such as a screw insert 110. A bin accessory 200 (figure 2) including the bracket as an integral part of the bin is also disclosed. The bin is for temporarily storing building waste, and is able to accommodate a standard rubble sack. The bin 200 (figure 2) may have a flat base for resting on a scaffolding board.
Description
Patent application Of Paul Bryant for Scaffolding clip and building waste bin
Field of Invention
This invention relates to scaffold attachments, and in particular to a clip for attaching accessories to a scaffold, and most particularly where the accessory is a bin for temporarily storing building waste
Background of the Invention
GB2438469A discloses an accessory tray for use in connection with a scaffold tower. The back of the tray is extended upward and curved at a point to form an engaging means so that it can hook over a horizontal scaffold pole or rail. The tray can engage with a vertical scaffold pole via a bracket to give support and stability. The tray is not suitable for storing building waste.
Disclosure of Invention
From the foregoing, it may be appreciated that a need has arisen for a bin for temporarily storing building waste on a scaffold structure.
A bracket for attaching an accessory to a scaffolding pole includes a clip which allows the bracket to be attached to the scaffolding pole, and a means for attaching the bracket to an accessory is joined to the clip by a body.
The body has one or more pairs of holes for receiving securing means for preventing the clip from detaching from the scaffolding pole. The securing means passes through the one or more pairs of holes and around the scaffolding pole, and it is typically a wire or a cable tie. The means for attaching an accessory can be a socket such as a screw insert. A bin accessory including the bracket as an integral part of the bin is also disclosed. The bin is for temporarily storing building waste, and is able to accommodate a standard rubble sack. The bin has a flat base for resting on a scaffolding board.
Brief Description of Drawings
For a more complete explanation of the present invention and the technical advantages thereof, reference is now made to the following description and the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows a bracket of the present invention for attaching an accessory to a scaffolding pole overview; and Figure 2 shows a bin accessory of the present invention for temporarily storing building waste.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
Embodiments of the present invention and their technical advantages may be better understood by referring to Figures 1 and 2.
Referring first to Figure 1, which shows a bracket (100) for attaching an accessory to a scaffolding pole, a clip (102) allows the bracket to be attached to the scaffolding pole, and a means (104) for attaching the bracket to an accessory is joined to the clip by a body (106). The body has one or more pairs of holes (108) for receiving securing means for preventing the clip from detaching from the scaffolding pole. The securing means passes through the one or more pairs of holes and around the scaffolding pole, and it is typically a wire or a cable tie. The means for attaching an accessory can be a socket such as a screw insert (110) The brackets allow scaffolders to secure important objects to the handrails or uprights. The brackets increase safety on the walkways by keeping the walkways clear, increasing space and reducing hazards. The brackets come in two different lengths to accommodate the distance between the handrails and the uprights when they are attached together. Holes within the brackets allow for cable ties to secure the brackets to the scaffold poles.
The brackets can be used for securing objects such as fire extinguishers, medical boxes and signs.
Referring now to Figure 2, which shows a bin accessory (200), the bracket (100) is preferably an integral part of the bin. The bin is for temporarily storing building waste, and is able to accommodate a standard rubble sack.
The bin has a flat base (202) for resting on a scaffolding board.
The bin is a simple way to reduce rubbish and debris left on walkways on scaffolding that could potentially cause accidents and injury. The bin clips to any upright, keeping it upright and preventing spillage. Holes within the clip allow cable ties to be used to secure the bin further.
The bin has been designed to fit a standard rubble sack, restricting capacity and weight to a manageable level. Once in position a rubbish bag is fitted within the bin and filled with rubbish. The bin will prevent workers from leaving rubbish on the floor, therefore reducing obstacles on the scaffolding. Once the bag is full, it can be taken to the rubbish chute for disposal. The bin is made from recycled plastic. The scaffold bins can be stacked together to save space in transit.
