Abstract
A system for recovering hydrocarbons from a formation, comprising a first well in the formation to produce a mixture comprising one or more hydrocarbons and all aqueous solution; a separator to divide the mixture into one or more hydrocarbon streams and all aqueous solution stream; a membrane to separate the aqueous solution into a first stream comprising a high concentration of polymer and a second stream comprising a low concentration of polymer; a second well in the formation to inject an aqueous polymer solution, wherein the aqueous polymer solution comprises at least a portion of the first stream.
