Abstract

247,106. Hutchison, H. Sept. 12, 1925. Rotary tube pumps; casings.-The rotor 5 of a centrifugal pump has one or more tubes 7 of suitable diameter extending from the axial inlet 2 to the periphery so that fluids or solids can travel from inlet to outlet through a practically continuous cylindrical passage. The rotor has a hollow boss 8 on the inlet side which engages in a recess in the casing 1, and a similar boss on the other side carries the shaft. Guide or bearing rings 10 to reduce the space between the rotor and the casing may be provided on the casing or on the rotor or on both.
