Abstract
A baby mesh bed or playpen includes a main body and a base member 2; the main body has upright rods each having a foot member; the main body has connecting rods 13, which are each pivoted at a first end to a foot member and arc pivoted to the base member 2 at a second end thereof; two of the connecting rods 13 are on a same diagonal line of a bottom of the main body and has a fastening component 23 secured on the second end; the base member is equipped with a stopping piece 25, which will prevent rotation of the fastening components 23 when the main body is in an expanded configuration. A handle 26 may be pivoted on the base member 2 to depress the stopping piece 25 against the spring 24 for the connecting rods 13 to be pivoted relative to the base member to fold the bed [see also fig 7].
Description
BASE STRUCTURE OF A BABY MESH BED
BACKGROUND OF THE iNVENTION
1. Field of the invention
The present invention relates to a base structure of a baby mesh bed, more particularly one, which doesn't have any part sticking up to make the mattress uneven, thus preventing the mattress from causing discomfort to a baby sitting/lying on the mesh bed.
2. Brief Description of the Prior Art
Referring to Figs. 8 and 9, a currently existing baby mesh bed includes a main body 4, which comprises several upright rods 41 on the periphery. Each of the upright rods 41 has a foot member 42 secured on a lower end thereof. Connecting rods 43 are pivoted to the foot members 42 respectively at a first end thereof. The baby mesh bed further includes a base member 44, and the connecting rods 43 are each pivoted to the base member 44 at a second end thereof.
The base member 44 has cavities 441 on a periphery thereof, and the second ends of the connecting rods 43 are received in the cavities 441 respectively. The base member 44 is equipped with a knob 442 on an upper side thereof to fasten the connecting rods 43. And, a mattress 45 is positioned on the base member 44. The knob 442 can be rotated between a fastening position and a releasing one. When the mesh bed is in an expanded configuration, the connecting rods 43 will be in a laid-down position, and fastened by means of the knob 442. After the knob 442 is rotated to the releasing position, the connecting rods 43 can be pivoted downwards relative to the base member 44 so as to move the mesh bed to a folded configuration.
The above mesh bed is found to have the following drawbacks: The rotary handle is rotated about the Y-axis to move between the fastening position and the releasing one, and it sticks upwards from the base member. Consequently, the rotary handle will make the mattress uneven, and cause discomfort to a baby who is sitting/lying on the mattress.
Therefore, it is a main object of the present invention to provide an improvement on a base structure of a baby mesh bed to overcome the above problem.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
A baby mesh bed according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a main body, and a base member. The main body have upright rods each having at a lower end thereof a foot member. The main body has connecting rods, which are each pivoted at a first end to a corresponding foot member, and are each pivoted to the base member at a second end thereof. a same diagonal line of a bottom of the main body; each of the first and the second connecting rods has a fastening component secured on the second end. The base member is equipped with a stopping piece, which will prop and fasten the fastening components when the main body is in the expanded configuration, thus preventing the fastening components from bouncing up.
A handle is pivoted on the base member to depress the stopping piece for the connecting rods to be pivoted relative to the base member so as to fold the baby mesh bed; the fastening components have holding recesses on the upper sides therefore the handle can be held in a laid-down position in the holding recesses when the baby mesh bed is in the expanded configuration for use. Consequently, the handle won't stick up, and in turn the mattress will be flat, thus not causing discomfort to a baby sitting/lying thereon.
The handle is pivoted to the base member with pivotal protrusions thereof being passed into pivotal ear parts of the base member, and a position-keeping plate is inserted between the pivotal protrusions to ensure that the pivotal protrusions are held in the pivotal ear parts.
Therefore, the handle can be installed rapidly, and it takes less labor and time to assemble the mesh bed.
The base member has cavities to receive the second ends of the connecting rods, and a pair of opposing elastic hooked components on two sides of each of the cavities. Each elastic hooked component has a sloping guide side, and a cavity under the sloping guide side. In assembly, pivotal pins are passed through the cormecting rods, and next are slid down into the cavities of the elastic hooked components along the sloping guide sides.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Referring to Fig. 1, a preferred embodiment of a baby mesh bed of the present invention includes a main body I, and a base member 2.
The main body 1 comprises an upright rod 11 on each of four corners thereof, a foot member 12 joined to a lower end of each of the upright rods 11, and connecting rods 13 on a bottom thereof. The connecting rods 13 are each pivoted to a respective one of the foot members 12 at a first end thereof.
The base member 2 is arranged on a middle of the bottom side of the main body 1, and it has four cavities 21 on a periphery thereof. The main body 1 further has two lateral support feet 14. The connecting rods 13 and the lateral support feet 14 are each received in a respective one of the cavities 21 of the base member 2, arid pivoted to the base member 2 at a second end thereof. The base member 2 has two opposing elastic hooked components 211 on two sides of each of the cavities 21; each of the elastic hooked components 211 has a sloping guide side 212, and a cavity 213 on a lower portion.
The base member 2 has a receiving hollowness 22, which adjoins opposing first and second ones of the cavities 21 that are on a same diagonal line of the bottom of the main body 1. First and second ones of the connecting rods 13, which are on the same diagonal line as the receiving hollowness 22 of the base member 2, each have a fastening component 23 joined to the second end thereof. Referring to Fig. 4, the connecting rods 13 and the lateral support feet 14 are each pivoted to two corresponding said elastic hooked components 211 of the base member 2 by means of a pin 131/141, which is passed through a corresponding said fastening component 23, and received in the cavities 213 of the elastic hooked components 211 at two ends; in assembly, the pins 131 and 141 are slid down on the sloping guide sides 212 of the elastic hooked components 211 therefore they will be passed into the cavities 213 finally. Each of the fastening components 23 has an arc section 231, a fastening section 232 protruding from a lower end of the arc section 231, and a holding recess 233 on an upper side thereof.
The base member 2 further has a holding hole 221 adjoining a middle of a lower end of the receiving hollowness 22. The base member 2 has a stopping piece 25, which is received in and can stick upwards from the receiving hollowness 22. The stopping piece 25 has a rod part 251 on a lower side, which projects downwards. And, an elastic element 24 is held in the holding hole 221 of the base member 2, and surrounds the rod part 251 of the stopping piece 25 to bias the stopping piece 25 upwards. The stopping piece 25 has two concavely curved portions 252 to face the arc sections 231 of the fastening components 23 respectively.
The stopping piece 25 has fastening portions 253 respectively adjoining lower ends of the concavely curved portions 252 to get into contact with the fastening sections 232 of the fastening components 23. The stopping 4.
piece 25 further has an uppermost propping side 254.
The base member 2 has a handle 26 pivoted thereon. The base member 2 has two pivotal ear parts 27 on the upper side. The handle 26 has two pivotal protrusions 261, which are held in the pivotal ear parts 27 respectively so as to pivot the handle 26 to the base member 2. The handle 26 has a pressing portion 262 at a lower end thereof to come into contact with the propping side 254 of the stopping piece 25. Furthermore, the handle 26 has a holding gap 263 between the pivotal protrusions 261, and a position-keeping plate 28 is inserted in the holding gap 263 to prop the pivotal protrusions 261 outwards so as to ensure that the pivotal protrusions 261 are held in the pivotal ear parts 27. When the handle 26 is pivoted to an erect position, the pressing portion 262 will enter into contact with the upper side of the stopping piece 25 so as to depress the stopping piece 25.
When the baby mesh bed is being moved to the expanded configuration for use, the connecting rods 13 will pivot relative to the base member 2, and at the same time the fastening components 23 joined to the first and the second connecting rods will slide on the concavely curved portions 252 of the stopping piece 25 until the arc sections 231 settle on the corresponding concavely curved portions 252; thus, the stopping piece 25 is biased up by means of the elastic element 24, and the fastening components 23 are pressed against the fastening portions 253 of the stopping piece 25 at the fastening sections 232 thereof so as not to bounce up, thus preventing the connecting rods 13 from moving accidentally, and the connecting rods 13 together form two diagonal lines on the bottom of the main body 1. Next, the handle 26 is pivoted down to be received in the holding recesses 233 of the fastening components 23; thus, there is no protruding object on the upper side of the base member 2. When a mattress 3 is placed on the bottom of the main body 1, it will be flat, as shown in Fig. 6.
Referring to Fig. 7, to fold the baby mesh bed, first the handle 26 is pivoted upwards to be away from the holding recesses 233 of the fastening components 23; thus, the pressing portion 262 will get into contact with the uppermost propping side 254 of the stopping piece 25 to depress the stopping piece 25 into the receiving hollowness 22, and in turn the fastening components 23 are no longer propped against the fastening portions 253 of the stopping piece 25. Next, the base member 2 is moved such that the connecting rods 13 are pivoted down relative to the base member 2 with the fastening components 23 sliding on the concavely curved portions 252 of the stopping piece 25. Consequently, the baby mesh bed is in a folded configuration to be easy to store.
From the above description, it can be seen that the present invention has the following advantages over the prior art: 1. When the present baby mesh bed is in the expanded configuration with the connecting rods being in the laid-sown position, the fastening components will be pressed against the fastening portions of the stopping piece at the fastening sections thereof so as not to bounce up, thus preventing the connecting rods from moving accidentally.
Therefore, the baby mesh bed is relatively stable and safe to use.
2. A person is allowed to pivot the handle about the X-axis to the upright position so as to depress the stopping piece into the holding hollowness of the base member; thus, the fastening components are no longer propped against the fastening portions of the stopping piece, and all of the connecting rods can be pivoted down relative to the base member so as to move the baby mesh bed to the folded configuration.
3. The handle is pivoted to the base member with the pivotal protrusions thereof being passed into the pivotal ear parts, and the position-keeping plate is inserted between the pivotal protrusions to prop the pivotal protrusions outwards so as to ensure that the pivotal protrusions are held in the pivotal ear parts. Therefore, the handle can be installed at the last step and rapidly, and it takes less labor and time to assemble the baby mesh bed.
4. The base member has a pair of opposing elastic hooked components on two sides of each of the cavities; each elastic hooked component has a sloping guide side, and a cavity adjoining the lower end of the sloping guide side; in assembly, the pivotal pins, on which the connecting rods and lateral support feet are pivoted, are slid down into the cavities of the elastic hooked components along the sloping guide sides. Therefore, it is relatively easy and takes less labor and time to assemble the present baby mesh bed.
5. The fastening components of the first arid the second connecting rods have holding recesses on the upper sides. Therefore, the handle can be held in a laid-down position in the holding recesses when the baby mesh bed is in the expanded configuration for use. Consequently, the handle won't stick up, and in turn the mattress will be flat, thus not going to cause discomfort to a baby sitting/lying thereon.
Claims (8)
- WHAT IS CLAIMED IS: 1. A base structure of a baby mesh bed, comprising a plurality of connecting rods, the connecting rods being each pivoted at a first end thereof to a foot member, which is joined to a lower end of one of a plurality of upright rods of a main body of a baby mesh bed; and a base member, the connecting rods being pivoted to the base member at a second end thereof; a first and a second ones of the connecting rods being on a same diagonal line of a bottom of the main body; each of the first and the second connecting rods having a fastening component secured on the second end thereof; the base member being equipped with a stopping piece to come into contact with the fastening components; the stopping piece being going to prop the fastening components when the main body is in an expanded configuration.
- 2. The base structure of a baby mesh bed as claimed in claim 1 further comprising lateral support feet pivoted at a second end thereof to the base member; the base member having a plurality of cavities on a periphery thereof, in which the second ends of the connecting rods and the lateral support feet are held; the fastening components of the first and the second connecting rods being held in first and second ones of the cavities of the base member; each of the fastening components having a fastening section; the base member having a receiving hollowness adjoining the first and the second cavities thereof; the base member having an elastic element held in the receiving hollowness thereof; the stopping piece being held in the receiving hollowness in a movable manner; the stopping piece having fastening portions on two sides thereof to come into contact with the fastening sections of the fastening components.
- 3. The base structure of a baby mesh bed as claimed in claim 2, wherein the base member has a pair of opposing elastic hooked components on two sides of each of the cavities thereof; each of the elastic hooked components having a sloping guide side, and a cavity adjoining a lower end of the sloping guide side; the connecting rods and the lateral support feet being each pivoted to the base member at the second end thereof by means of a pin, which is held at two ends thereof in corresponding said opposing elastic hooked components; in assembly, the pivotal pins being slid down into the cavities of the elastic hooked components along the sloping guide sides of the elastic hooked components.
- 4. The base structure of a baby mesh bed as claimed in claim 2, wherein the base member has a holding hole adjoining a lower end of the receiving hollowness thereof, and the stopping piece has a rod part sticking from a lower side thereof; the elastic element being held in the holding hole of the base member as well as surrounding the rod part of the stopping piece.
- 5. The base structure of a baby mesh bed as claimed in claim 2, wherein each of the fastening components has an arc section, and the stopping piece of the base member has a concavely curved portion to face the arc sections of the fastening components.
- 6. A base structure of a baby mesh bed, comprising a plurality of connecting rods, the connecting rods being each pivoted at a first end thereof to a foot member, which is joined to a lower end of one of a plurality of upright rods of a main body of a baby mesh bed; and a base member, the connecting rods being pivoted to the base member at a second end thereof; a first and a second ones of the connecting rods being on a same diagonal line of a bottom of the main body; each of the first and the second connecting rods having a fastening component secured on the second end thereof; the base member being equipped with a stopping piece to come into contact with the fastening components; the stopping piece having a propping side on an upper side thereof; the base member having a handle pivoted thereon; the base member having two pivotal ear parts on an upper side; the handle having two pivotal protrusions, which are held in the pivotal ear parts respectively so as to pivot the handle to the base member; the handle having a pressing portion at a lower end thereof to come into contact with the propping side of the stopping piece.
- 7. The base structure of a baby mesh bed as claimed in claim 6, wherein the handle has a holding gap between the pivotal protrusions thereof, and a position-keeping plate is inserted in the holding gap to prop the pivotal protrusions outwards so as to ensure that the pivotal protrusions are held in the pivotal ear parts of the base member.
- 8. The base structure of a baby mesh bed as claimed in claim 6, wherein each of the fastening components has a holding recess on an upper side thereof to receive the handle.
